“Way of the Entrepreneur” is a youth exchange that will focus on the topic of youth unemployment and entrepreneurship. It will bring together 31 young people ages 18-26 from 5 different countries to create an amazing international environment where the participants will learn about the opportunities that entrepreneurship offers them, develop their self-presentation and problem solving skills. Participants will come together from Estonia, Spain, Romania, Italy and Slovakia to share their experiences with each other and create an awesome non-formal learning environment.
The groups will stay together for 8 activity days where they will gain more knowledge and experience about non-formal education in form of presentations, workshops, self-evaluation and cultural events. The presentations and workshops will give them great encouragement to pursue their dreams and goals in life. They will also get the necessary practical knowledge and will be able to connect with other like-minded people around Europe. Participants will also be writing projects of their own, learn how to maximize their impact and work side by side with trainers from Youth Europa. As a result of this project, European youth will be taking another step towards happier life, become aware of the opportunities offered by Erasmus+ and create awesome businesses, NGOs and projects of their own. All of this is made possible by Erasmus+ programme and the organisers from Youth Europa.
The target group is not very specific for this project. The participant candidates will be evaluated based on their level of motivation and interest in the topic. The most motivated individuals who wish to fully participate and contribute to the success of this project will be selected.
- Be present and have an active participation on all sessions of the youth exchange
- Show initiative and interest in the topic and follow up activities
- Aged between 18-27
- Have a fluent command of English language
It is also important to find participants who have a clear understanding that the project does not end with the completion of activities, but continues with the dissemination and presentations of the results. Gender balance and group diversity in terms of different social and cultural backgrounds will be taken into consideration.
Accommodation and Food
Raudsilla is situated in Lahemaa National Park and is a unique venue. Home to a number of small and large wooden teepee tents. Including the largest teepee in Europe.
Raudsilla is surrounded by beautiful untouched nature and threw it flows Pärlijõgi (“Pearl river”), which is one of the last remaining habitats of the freshwater pearl mussel (Margaritifera margaritifera). Another sight definitely worth visiting is the Baltic klint and braver quests can catapult-zipline down this magnificent bank. Raudsilla is the perfect place to just unwind and unplug!
Accommodation and food will be covered by the host organization. Accommodation will be grouped by gender. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served at the same location every day.
The sleeping will be in 2 different houses with boys and girls separately. There are mattresses, blankets, pillows etc so you don’t need to bring these with you. Our seminar room is the biggest teepee in Europe and looks really awesome, this is where we will be spending most of our time. In addition to this there is a huge sauna and also a hot tub!
We are really happy to announce that this project will be taking place in such a special location. We believe that this accommodation will make your stay even more memorable!
The general rules are the usual – be on time, respect other people, clean up after yourself, do not disturb others late at night, follow the venue rules. In addition to this we will also talk about the rules regarding sauna, swimming and the venue itself. Alcohol is only permitted on special occasions like the intercultural evening where all groups can offer their drinks.
Drug usage, violence, sexual harassment, theft or any other serious misbehaviour will result in us calling the police, casting you out of the exchange and not reimbursing your travel cost.
We will go over all the rules in the beginning of the exchange and also have them visible on the wall during the project.
Travelling to Estonia can be done by flying to either Tallinn (Estonia) or Riga (Latvia). Riga usually has better flight connections. If possible, fly to Tallinn, if it is significantly cheaper then fly to Riga instead and take the bus from there to Tallinn. We will assist you as much as possible and ensure your safe arrival at the accommodation.
All participants must arrive at the accommodation on 13th of February or a bit earlier, arriving few days earlier is usually okay if you confirm this with us first. If you arrive earlier, we will help you look for a cheap accommodation before the project starts. Just as you can arrive earlier, you can also leave a few days after the real departure day. The departure day is 22nd of February. You have to pay extra for the accommodation during the nights which are not included in this project. Arriving earlier or leaving later will give you some breathing space and you will have some time to check out other cities or places you wish to visit.
www.skyscanner.net and www.azair.eu are two really useful websites to find suitable tickets. www.luxexpress.eu, www.ecolines.net are two of the websites to check the bus from Riga to Tallinn. www.tpilet.ee is for the bus travel in Estonia.
NOTE: You are only allowed to purchase the tickets if we have confirmed that you will be participating in this project and if your travel option is suitable.
Travel cost reimbursement limits based on the travel distance:
- Estonia: 0 EUR
- Slovakia: 170 EUR
- Romania: 170 EUR
- Italy: 270 EUR
- Spain: 400 EUR
Youth Europa will provide accommodation, food and programme activities during the project. You must keep all the bills, boarding passes and all kinds of tickets with you, because we need them in order to reimburse your travel cost. There is a participation fee of 30 euros that will help us improve the quality of this project.
NOTE: The travel cost will not be reimbursed to the people who are not taking part of the whole youth exchange or who severely break the rules of the exchange. It is recommended to bring some cash with you in order to buy some of the services offered by the accommodation.
All national groups have a small homework to do before they arrive to the project. Each group needs to do a brief research on how is the current situation in their country regarding entrepreneurship.
Things you should look into:
- Consultation possibilities for the starting entrepreneur.
- Funding and monetary support possibilities (Governmental and private sector)
- The process of starting a company/NGO. Is it simple or rather difficult?
- Share your own experience, have you started something or are you planning to?
Feel free to choose your own medium. It doesn’t have to be a power point presentation (but it can be), be creative!:)
