Project Overview

The CreActivity in YOUth is an Erasmus+ youth exchange which aims to help young people discover the creativity within them in day to day life. The project seeks to raise young people’s employment chances in the ever-changing world where the process of automation gradually reshapes the labor market and makes creativity, communication and teamwork the desired qualities. The exchange will gather 26 young people from Slovakia, Estonia, Spain and Sweden to learn and exchange their knowledge of the topic as well as to explore different aspects of their culture.

Besides the workshops, the program includes many interesting and entertaining activities such as trips, night activities, daily games, contests and so on.

Participants Profile

The participant candidates will be evaluated based on their level of motivation and interest in the topic. The most motivated individuals who wish to fully participate and contribute to the success of this project will be selected.

Participant requirements

  • To have both interest on the topic of the project and and participate actively over the duration of the exchange
  • To be 18-27 years old, there is no upper age limit for group leaders
  • To have a fluent command of the english language
  • To hold the European Health Card (EU countries) or a medical insurance (Non-EU countries) valid during the period of the Exchange. If not, you must sign a document that exempts us from any responsibility related to eventual health care costs at your arrival.

Accommodation and Food

The accommodation is near Lendak, a little town of 5000 inhabitants. It is situated in the north of Slovakia, surrounded by the Tatra mountains and close to the border with Poland. We will be hosted in a guesthouse Harmónia.

Our accommodation is situated in a beautiful natural environment surrounded by a forest, therefore keep in mind that the closest village is approximately 1 km away. As we will be the only guests there during our stay, we will have enough privacy.

The accommodation will be provided in double to five-bed rooms. Each room has its own bathroom and TV. Regarding food, there will be a vegetarian option and an option for people with intolerances, as long as you let us know in a form that you will fill in prior to the project.

The general rules are the usual – be on time, respect other people, clean up after yourself, do not disturb others late at night, etc. In addition to this we will also talk about the rules regarding sauna, the venue and the project itself.

Drug usage, violence, sexual harassment, theft or any other serious misbehavior will result in us calling the police, casting you out of the exchange and not reimbursing your travel cost.

We will go over all the rules in the beginning of the exchange and also have them displayed during the project.

NOTE: Travel cost will be partially or fully removed if participants:

  • Do not take part in the whole length of the main activity
  • Repeatedly break the basic rules and do not react to warnings
  • Commit any serious misbehavior

Participants must be in Lendak on 29th April. There will be a time range to be there which will be specified. Regarding the trip, there are some guidelines and requirements you must follow:

  • As mentioned, travel costs are covered, but there is a limit depending on the distance:

Estonia (500 – 1999 km) 275 €

Spain (2000 – 2999 km) 360 €

Slovakia (100 – 499 km) 180 €

Sweden (500 – 1999 km) 275 €

VERY IMPORTANT. This is the limit for every participant depending on the country you come from. But, first of all, as participant you have to verify that your trip is within the corresponding distance band for your country. If your trip is not inside the distance band of your country, you have to contact us because your limit will be a bit lower. For measuring distance use this link and select the city/village you come from as “Start” and Lendak as “End”.

  • As a participant, you can arrive up to 2 days earlier before the project or leave up to 2 days later after the project has finished. Extra days will not be covered and you need to find accommodation/food for yourself.

  • Krakow, Poprad, Košice, Bratislava and Vienna are the closest airports, but we recommend you to focus on Poprad, Košice, Bratislava and Vienna more, since the connections with Krakow are rather infrequent.
  • Your priority is to reach Poprad, which is closest bigger city to our accommodation. Then you have to get to Lendak or to Tatranská kotlina by bus from Poprad. We will help you to find the most suitable connections, through your country group leaders and directions in a facebook group.
  • Poprad is easily reachable by trains and also buses. There are direct trains and buses from Bratislava and Kosice. There is also a frequent connection from Vienna airport to Bratislava.

Therefore, you will have to research and prepare your trip; websites like skyscanner, flightscanner, azair (flights) and goeuro, regiojet (trains/buses) are very useful. Poprad is the city you have to reach. Youth Europa will inform you how to reach Lendak or Tatranská kotlina from Poprad.

In case you are uncertain about how to reach the destination, do not hesitate to contact the organisers for help which we will gladly provide.

  • VERY IMPORTANT. You have to keep all your tickets, because we will need them for the reimbursement. Some guidelines regarding this issue:
    • Flights: we will need both boarding passes (PDF, not the Boarding Pass from your phone!) and an invoice/receipt of your purchase which specifies the prize
    • E-tickets are valid; you don’t have to print them. In case you only received the physical ticket, scan it before giving it to us.
  • VERY IMPORTANT. You need our confirmation before purchasing your flight tickets.

Youth Europa will provide accommodation, food and programme activities during the project. You must keep all the bills, boarding passes and all kinds of tickets with you, this is necessary in order to reimburse your travel cost. There is a participation fee of 30 euros that will help us improve the quality of this project.

NOTE: The travel cost will not be reimbursed to the people who are not taking part of the whole youth exchange or who break the rules of the exchange. It is recommended to bring some cash with you in order to buy some of the services offered by the accommodation.

General Information

  • Intercultural dinner:The intercultural dinner will take place the first night. Participants from each group must coordinate to bring typical food and drinks from their country. You can also contact us in case you want to cook or prepare something in the accommodation.
  • Cultural nights: several evenings will be dedicated to national teams presenting their country and culture. You will have around 30 minutes for your presentation. As this is a project about creativity, try to make it as interesting as possible, preferably avoiding usual tourist videos etc.
  • Things you have to bring: There should be at least one laptop per group, as some of the activities we have planned require using it.
  • Insurance: Youth Europa has signed different insurance policies required by the Erasmus+ program. This includes an accident insurance which will cover you facing any severe accident. Regarding health care and as mentioned in the Participants profile section, participants must hold their European Health Card (EU countries) or subscribe a medical insurance (Non-EU Countries). We can help you in this process if you need to. In case you come from Non-EU countries, the cost of the health insurance will be returned to you thanks to the funds we have been given for this purpose. If you don’t meet this requirement when you come to the Project, we will require you to sign a document where you declare that you were informed regarding this issue and exempt us from any responsibility.
  • Weather: The average temperature in this period is usually between 6°C to 11°C. However, our accomodation is in the mountains therefore weather may change unexpectedly. We highly recommend you to bring warm clothes and hiking shoes.
