Would you like to know how to get into the videogame industry?
Are you interested in programming or gamification?
Do you want to create your own games or portfolio?
We are happy to announce one of our most ambitious youth exchanges called ‘Game Design for Youth’. We are gathering 24 participants from Spain, Estonia, Armenia, and Greece from 11th to 19th of December. You can expect interesting presentations and discussions with people from the videogame industry, get to learn how Unity or RPGMaker works, learn how to create your own characters and environments, and most importantly, you will create your own games within a team! If your New Year’s resolution is to learn something new, it’s not too late to join us and take away new knowledge on something useful and cool from a growing industry, right before the year ends!
This project is supported by the Erasmus+ program. The only cost is the small participation fee and we will take care of the rest!

We are looking for young people who are passionate about videogames and/or would like to take their first step into the industry. Do not hesitate to apply if you love playing videogames, meeting people with common interests and working with them, or if you consider yourself having creative skills that will help with creating new games. We would like to inform you that this project involves quite some amount of work, so be prepared! But do not worry, we are going to have a lot of fun and we have prepared various leisure activities for you.
Everyone is welcomed to this youth exchange, but having any of these skills is a plus:
-Experience with programming.
-Experience with videogames and game mechanics.
-Knowing how to draw.
-Good level of English.
This project involves working a lot with your computer, so having a laptop and bringing it to the project is required. We can provide a computer in special cases.
The youth exchange will take place in Valdemaqueda (Spain), a village in the countryside of Madrid. We will be surrounded by mountains, the nature (forest), and the Cofio River. We are going to be a little bit isolated from civilization, but on the other hand it is going to be an ideal place to get acquainted with other participants in the project. We will be hosting you in an accommodation called Refugio Berna (http://refugioberna.com/). Most of the workshops will take place in the activity room inside the accommodation. The venue has 5 rooms for 2-3 people, and a huge room for 12 people with large windows, a good view of the mountains, and a fireplace in the center.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served at the same location every day. Food is going to be prepared by a chef of the village, so expect traditional Spanish food. There will always be options for people with food allergies or intolerances. We will try our best but we cannot assure that every meal will consist of many different options to meet everyone’s personal food preferences, so do keep this in mind.
You must arrive before late evening on 11th of December to the venue of the project and you cannot leave (unless it’s an emergency) the project before 19th of December. You can get to Valdemaqueda by flying to Madrid, Zaragoza or even Barcelona. Selected participants will receive more details how to arrive to the accommodation.
We also cover your travel cost up to certain limit. You will receive your reimbursement after you have provided us all the documents within a month after the event. If you’re economical, it’s possible to get your full travel expenses covered!
Selected participants need to contact the organizer and send their travel info before buying the tickets. It is important not to buy anything before receiving the green light from us. We will of course assist you in every way possible.
Each national group will take turns presenting different aspects of their culture during the cultural evenings. Take this opportunity to prepare a unique and memorable experience for the rest of the participants and don’t be afraid to be creative! Don’t forget to bring some food, snacks or drinks typical for your country for others to taste.
Afterwards, we will continue with other fun activities and social program, so the evenings will without doubt be far from dull. You are also welcomed to contribute, propose and prepare an activity or a game for the rest of the group!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our project coordinator, Antonio. We will do our best to answer all your questions!
Detailed information will be given to all of the selected participants.
